the 80's | the 90's | the 2K's
1990-91 The first year of conference competition began in the sport of lacrosse.
1991-92 Rowing became an annual sport within the NEW 8.
1992-93 The NEW 8 featured its first championship tournament in lacrosse.
1993-94 Track and field became an annual sport within the NEW 8 in a conference championship format.
1994-95 Following the conclusion of the 1994-95 academic year, Brandeis University withdrew from the NEW 8.
Clark University joined for the 1995-96 academic year.
1995-96 Swimming and diving competed as a NEW 8 sport for the first time.
1998-99 In the spring of 1998, the NEW 8 Conference expanded its membership to include Springfield College and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. The conference changed its name to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference. NEWMAC began sponsoring conference play and championships for men.
