Apple Offering Student Special

There is never a bad time to purchase a Mac computer, but students who buy a Mac this summer are rewarded with a free iPod Touch. And with the price of an education these days, a free giveaway comes very welcomed – especially when the item being given away is an iPod Touch. The offer mirrors one from last year, and it brings back what is perhaps the best deal of the season to students at any grade level, as well as teachers. So students from elementary school to a post-graduate level qualify for the program.

The first step to participating in this program is selecting a Mac computer. Students are not limited as to which Mac they purchase, as every Mac comes with a free Touch between May 25 and September 7, 2010. And in addition to offering a free iPod, Apple is offering Macs at a discounted rate to students as well. The following discounts apply:

The MacBook: Students and teachers save $50

The MacBook Pro: Students and teachers save up to $200

The MacBook Air: Students and teachers save up to $100

The iMac: Students and teachers save up to $100

Each of these Macs has their unique advantages, but the good news is that there simply is not a bad choice to be made. From the MacBook to the iMac, consumers agree that their Apple computer provides them with every tool they need to make the most of their educational experience.

Along with their new Mac, of course, consumers take a free 8GB iPod Touch home with them. The iPod works well at school and at home, and there are endless ways to put an iPod Touch to good use. Sticking with the educational theme, iTunes U has a wide variety of educational content available for free download. But, in addition to using the iPod for academia, the Touch is a great little device for simply browsing the Web or downloading games, apps and movies.

On Apple’s Website, they provide full instructions and details about how students can participate in this offer. The following three steps pretty much sum things up:

1.   Shop for the Mac computer that suits your needs best. You can shop at an Apple Online Store for Education, an Apple Retail Store or an Apple Authorized Campus Store.

2.   Purchase an 8GB iPod Touch. You must pay for the iPod at the same time you pay for the Mac computer to qualify for the special.

3.   Submit your rebate online within 90 days of making your purchase. You can check your rebate status at any time, and within weeks you will receive a check for a full rebate on the purchase of the iPod Touch.

Students who have been considering upgrading their computer should not miss this opportunity to receive a discounted Mac and a free iPod Touch. Last summer, thousands of happy students participated in this deal and are still enjoying the benefits from their free iPods. More happy consumers are expected to join in this year.
