Director of Athletics

Athletics are a vital part of the Babson College experience. Located 17 miles west of Boston, Babson College is recognized internationally for its entrepreneurial leadership in a changing global environment. Babson grants BS degrees to an undergraduate student body of approximately 1700.

The Athletics Director will administer all Athletics and Wellness/Fitness Programs; recruit, supervise, and evaluate athletics personnel (approximately 30); oversee the athletics budget and provide input on the development and/or management of the capital budget; and coordinate formulation and implementation of operating policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities: Monitor, ensure compliance, and perform administrative duties related to the Conference and NCAA rules and regulations by all teams and coaches. Establish and maintain relationships with regional and national athletics associations. Create and implement a Staff Development Program for Athletic personnel, serve on standing and ad hoc committees directly and indirectly related to Athletics. Formally assess quality of experience for intercollegiate student athletes and recreational users of facilities and programs. Collaborate with the Advancement Division for fundraising and assume leadership role in developing alumni and parent programs related to athletics. Integrate the Olin College of Engineering students into recreational programs. This position will also assume additional responsibilities as assigned.

Master's degree with 5-10 years previous collegiate athletic administration experience required. The successful candidate will have excellent supervisory, program management, interpersonal, and financial skills, collegiate coaching experience preferred. The ability to work with all constituencies is necessary. This position will not have coaching responsibilities. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student and Community Services
