iPad Has a New Shipping Date

If there wasn’t strong enough indication already that Apple’s soon to be released iPad is going to be a success, there is now yet another sign that business will continue to boom for Apple. Just last week, Apple announced on its website that shipping would be pushed back from April 3rd to April 12th for Wi-Fi iPads. While this of course comes as a disappointment to those who are anxiously awaiting their new Apple product, it strongly points to the success that Apple’s iPads will likely enjoy.

The reason for this delay almost certainly comes from the fact that Apple is receiving more pre-orders for the iPad than expected. According to AppleInsider, speculators are estimating that Apple has already sold hundreds of thousands of iPads. And this even before the iPad has hit the stores. This type of response is only possible with a company like Apple, where consumers can reliably expect to receive a superb product for their money.

This is not the first time that Apple has blown away consumers with a new product, of course. The iPod was no small change in the way that we listen to music, and it didn’t take long at all for consumers to catch on when it was first unveiled. The iPhone caught on even quicker, and Apple sold well over a million iPhones in only a few months. Now, it looks as if the iPad is on track to outdo both the iPod and the iPhone in sales records.

So what does this mean for Apple? Well, stock market analysts agree that the release of the iPad will certainly lead to positive financial gains for shareholders. And good financial news for Apple will likely mean good news for the technology industry as a whole. With greater capital to invest in research and development, Apple will have even more resources to continue innovating products that change the way the world operates.

But back to the iPad – Apple maintains that U.S. consumers will have access to every model by the end of April. The Wi-Fi model is set to ship on April 12th, and is available in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB, for $499, $599, and $699, respectively. The Wi-Fi 3G model is set to ship sometime by the end of April. This model is also available in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB, and is priced at $629, $729, and $829, respectively.

Many people are questioning whether consumers who have not yet preordered their iPad will have difficulty obtaining an iPad after they are released. With iPad’s broad appeal, it may be that Apple Stores will have difficulty keeping them in stock for a period of time. The best way for consumers to get their hands on an iPad, of course, is to make their preorder with Apple while they can.
