2005 NEWMAC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM

NEWMAC Announces 2005 Women’s Basketball All Conference Teams

Northampton, MA: Springfield College, the 2005 NEWMAC women’s basketball champion, led all schools with three players voted onto the All Conference team by league coaches today. Junior Courtney Parvin (Brackney, PA) and senior Kacey Wunsch (Londonderry, NH) were named to the first team while first year Tara McCarthy (Bristol, RI) was voted onto the second team in addition to being recognized as the NEWMAC Rookie of the Year.

Babson head coach Judy Blinstrub was named the NEWMAC Coach of the Year and had two players recognized as All Conference selections. Sophomore Suzy Ward (North Attleboro, MA) was named to the first team while tri-captain senior Meredith Hellen (Somerville, MA) received second team honors.

Clark sophomore Ashley Auclair (Williamsburg, MA) was voted NEWMAC Player of the Year in addition to the All Conference first team. Auclair, who was received Rookie of the Year honors last year, led the Cougars and the Conference this season in scoring and rebounding averaging 18 ppg and 10 rebounds per game.

Coast Guard’s Lis Bosma (Potomac Falls, WA) filled out the All Conference first team with Mount Holyoke’s Jonee Billy (New York, NY), WPI’s Lee Helberg (South Yarmouth, MA) and Wellesley’s Erin Johnson (Center Monches, NY) completing the second team.
