2004 NEWMAC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM
WORCESTER, MASS. – Clark University, the 2004
New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference Women’s
Basketball Champions, swept the top three awards, as the NEWMAC announced
its women’s basketball post-season honors in a vote by league
coaches, Tuesday.
Clark Head Coach Pat Glispin was named the NEWMAC Coach
of the Year, while senior Rachael Turkington (Holland, Mass.) was named
the conference’s Player of the Year and first-year center Ashley
Auclair (Williamsburg, Mass.) was named the conference Rookie of the
Year. Auclair also earned second-team all-conference honors.
Springfield College, the 2004 NEWMAC runners-up, placed
senior guard Kelly McOmber (Woodbury, Conn.) on the all-conference first
team. McOmber was a second team selection in 2003.
Rounding out the all-conference first-team were Coast
Guard’s Lis Bosma (Potomac Falls, Va.), WPI’s Allison Wing
(Brewer, Maine) and Smith’s Dasen Woitkowski (Pittsfield, Mass.).
Mount Holyoke received
three second team all-conference selections in senior Sara Belding (Sebastopol,
Calif.), sophomore Jonee Billy (New York, N.Y.) and first-year Joeanna
Silvey (Boston, Mass.). WPI’s Lee Helberg (Yarmouth, Mass.) also
earned second team all-conference honors while Clark’s Auclair
was also named to the NEWMAC all-conference second team.
