2004 NEWMAC SOFTBALL ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM SELECTED

Worcester, MA – Wheaton College’s Jackie Demling, a senior right-handed pitcher from Norwood, Massachusetts, was today named the 2004 Player of the Year for the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference in softball for the second straight year. Demling proved to be the driving force behind Wheaton’s capturing NEWMAC crowns both during the regular season and in the NEWMAC post-season tourney which was concluded last Sunday. Wheaton will go on to represent the NEWMAC as its automatic qualifier in the NCAA Tournament.

U.S. Coast Guard Academy’s Colleen Perry is this year’s NEWMAC Rookie of the Year. Perry is a freshman pitcher from Norwalk, CT. Smith College’s Bonnie May is the NEWMAC Coach of the Year.
