NORTON, MA- Sophomore Jackie Demling (Norwood, MA/Norwood) fired a
two-hit shutout and junior Maren Schrader (Canby, OR/Canby) went a
perfect 3-for-3 for the Wheaton College softball team, as the Lyons
eliminated Coast Guard, 4-0 in the New England Women's and Men's
Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament third semifinal round game
	at Clark Field.

Wheaton awaits the loser of today's final contest between Clark and
Springfield. The Lyons will host tomorrow morning's game at 11:00 a.m.

The hosts picked up two runs in the second and a pair more in the
third, while Demling struck out nine Bear batters to advance to
Sunday's finals round. In the second, first-year Meghan Malloy
(Cumberland, RI/Cumberland) reached and advanced to second on an
error, moved to third on a sacrifice bunt and eventually scored
off the bat of senior Lucy Campbell (Anson, ME/Carrabec). Sophomore
Amanda Dow-Allen (Greenfield, MA/Stoneleigh-Burnham) pushed home
Campbell with an RBI double to extend Wheaton's advantage to 2-0.

In the third, Malloy drove in a run and sophomore Brianna Shawah
(Pompton Plains, NJ/Pequannock) registered a sacrifice hit to
double the Lyons' lead. Junior Leslie Kagami (Honolulu, HI) and
