2004 NEWMAC Men's Tennis All-Conference Team Announced BABSON PARK, Mass. -- The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced its men's tennis post-season awards on Wednesday, and the conference regular season and tournament champion Massachusetts Institute of Technology led the way with seven First Team selections. MIT swept the singles awards, as sophomore Evan Tindell (Boca Raton, Fla.), junior Vitaliy Pereverzev (Almaty, Kazakhstan), first-year Tom Dohlman (Wellesley, Mass.), senior Mike Ogrydziak (Davis, Calif.), first-year Mark Egan (Chapell Hill, N.C.), and first-year Kevin Durand (Phoenix, Ariz.) were all named to the NEWMAC All-Conference First Team. Tindell and Pereverzev also earned First Team honors at number one doubles, while Dohlman and Ogrydziak were named to the Second Team at number two doubles. MIT's Jeff Hamilton was named NEWMAC Coach of the Year.
Wheaton College was also well represented this year, as the Lyons garnered a total of 10 awards. Senior Scott Longmire (Belmont, Mass.) and first-year Will Stoddard (Huntington, Vt.) received All-Conference First Team honors at number two doubles, while senior Adam Wright (West Bloomfield, Mich.) and sophomore Nick Potter (Concord, N.H.) earned First Team recognition at number three doubles. First-year Payum Payman (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) led Wheaton s Second Team singles sweep at number one, and he was named NEWMAC Rookie of the Year. Springfield College was the only other team to receive an All-Conference selection, as senior Brad Boisvert (Ponaganset, R.I.) and junior Rich Aseltine (Tyngsboro, Mass.) earned Second Team honors at number three doubles.
