2004 NEWMAC All-Conference Team NEWMAC Women's Tennis All-Conference Team Announced BABSON PARK, Mass. — The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced its women's tennis post-season awards on Tuesday, and the conference's regular season and tournament champion Wellesley College led the way with five First Team selections. In addition, Wellesley first-year Jenna Mezin ( Maui , Hawaii ) was named NEWMAC Rookie of the year, while head coach Christine Franek was selected as the NEWMAC Coach of the Year. Wheaton College sophomore Ashley Kriwinsky ( Munson , Ohio ) was named All-NEWMAC First Team at number one singles, while Babson College junior Fran Russo ( Westerville , Ohio ) earned First Team honors at number two singles. Wheaton then rounded out the First Team singles selections with first-year Trish Devine (Westport, Mass.) at number three, senior Kirsi Hakkinen (Cincinnati, Ohio) at number four, sophomore Emily McDonald (Williamsville, N.Y.) at number five, and first-year Hali Walther (Sammamish, Wash.) at number six. Russo and fellow Babson junior Erin Seu ( Honolulu , Hawaii ) were selected to the All-Conference First Team at number one doubles, MIT first-years Mariah Hoover ( Orlando , Fla. ) and Serena Lin ( Saratoga , Calif. ) received First Team honors at number two doubles, and Devine and sophomore Hana Freymiller ( Anchorage , Alaska ) picked up Wellesley 's fifth First Team selection at number three doubles.
