Annouces Hiring of New Assisant Athletics Director/Sports Information
Director
WORCESTER, Mass - Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) has announced
the hiring of Charles "Rusty" Eggen as its new Assistant
Athletics Director and Sports Information Director. Eggen, who replaces
long-time SID Steve Raczynski, will assume duties in early January.
"We
are pleased that Rusty Eggen will be joining our staff," said
Dana L. Harmon, WPI's Director of Physical Education, Recreation
and Athletics. "His dedication, work ethic and administrative
abilities are well known and we are excited that he will now be
contributing to WPI athletics and the university."
Since
1999, Eggen has served as the Assistant Athletics Director and Sports
Information Director at Fitchburg State College. In addition to
the sports information duties, he was responsible for contest management,
scheduling, and transportation. Prior to his tenure at Fitchburg
State, Eggen was the assistant SID and a visiting lecturer at Bridgewater
State College.
Along
with his duties as SID at the two state colleges, Eggen has been
the Director of Media Relations for the Massachusetts State College
Athletic Conference (MASCAC) since August of 1999.
Eggen,
who lives in Worcester, graduated from Slippery Rock (PA) University
in 1996. He is a native of Downingtown, PA., and is married to Carey
Williams Eggen, the Associate Athletics Director at Framingham State
College. |
