Wheaton’s James Greenslit Named Men’s Soccer Player of the Year
Wheaton’s Lane Named Rookie of the Year; Clark’s Kulik Named Coach of the Year

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., -- Wheaton College junior midfielder James Greenslit (Framingham, Mass.) was voted the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men’s Soccer Player of the Year for the second-straight season at the annual NEWMAC post-season coaches meeting.

Clark University’s Dave Kulik was named the NEWMAC’s top coach, while Wheaton College freshman forward Dan Lane (Dedham, Mass.) was named the conference’s most outstanding rookie.

Greenslit helped lead Wheaton to the NEWMAC Tournament Championship title, assisting on two scores in the Lyons’ 3-0 win over MIT. Wheaton (13-4-2) will face Keene State in its first-round NCAA Division III Tournament match.

Kulik has coached Clark to a 13-2-2 overall record this season as the Cougars will face Wentworth in the first-round of the 2005 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England Men’s Soccer Tournament. Clark is the top seed for the ECAC’s.

Lane has made an immediate impact this season at Wheaton, leading the Lyons with 13 goals and three assists in his rookie campaign. Lane is second in the NEWMAC in goals and points (29) this season.
