SPRINGFIELD, Mass., -- Wheaton College junior midfielder
James Greenslit (Framingham, Mass.) was voted the New England Women’s
and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men’s Soccer
Player of the Year for the second-straight season at the annual
NEWMAC post-season coaches meeting.
Clark University’s Dave Kulik was named the
NEWMAC’s top coach, while Wheaton College freshman forward
Dan Lane (Dedham, Mass.) was named the conference’s most outstanding
rookie.
Greenslit helped lead Wheaton to the NEWMAC Tournament
Championship title, assisting on two scores in the Lyons’
3-0 win over MIT. Wheaton (13-4-2) will face Keene State in its
first-round NCAA Division III Tournament match.
Kulik has coached Clark to a 13-2-2 overall record
this season as the Cougars will face Wentworth in the first-round
of the 2005 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England
Men’s Soccer Tournament. Clark is the top seed for the ECAC’s.
Lane has made an immediate impact this season at
Wheaton, leading the Lyons with 13 goals and three assists in his
rookie campaign. Lane is second in the NEWMAC in goals and points
(29) this season.
