History
In 1998, the NEW 8 began sponsoring men's sports and changed the name to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference. The first championship was hosted by Smith College and was won by MIT. In 2000, Springfield College won the championship with a 14-point lead over runner-up MIT. MIT has won the past four NEWMAC titles with Springfield finishing second each year.
