Looking for ways to entertain yourself at the gym, but not sure which iTunes downloads are the best?  When you’re creating a workout playlist, you want songs that are upbeat and fun.  Soft rock is usually out of the question, as well as certain country songs.  Get your blood pumping and your heart beating by downloading songs by The Blackeyed Peas, Missy Elliott, and DJ Sammy.

Download The Blackeyed Peas on iTunes for your workouts

If you watched the SuperBowl, you probably weren’t impressed by The Blackeyed Peas’ performance at half time-but hey, at least they knew the words to their own songs.  Don’t let one bad live performance deter you from downloading their music on iTunes, though.  The Blackeyed Peas sing songs with a great beat and a lot of bass.  Blast them on your iPod (with the ear buds plugged in, of course) while fellow gym-goers watch in awe as you tear it up the treadmill and stair climber.  Tonight’s gonna be a good, good night at the gym.

Download Missy Elliott on iTunes for your workouts

Long before Nicky Minaj was around, Missy Elliott set the standard for female rappers.  She has six platinum albums, one of which is certified as double platinum.  She can dance, she can rap, and with the help of Timbaland, she can offer listeners funky beats that they’ll never hear anyplace else.  Others have tried to imitate her style, but nobody has come close.  Work it on the elliptical, and lose control on the exercise bike.  Working out to Missy Elliott’s songs will have you looking supa dupa fly in no time.

Download DJ Sammy on iTunes for your workouts

Bored with rap and pop?  DJ Sammy is an international superstar who creates techno and electronic dance hits.  The hits aren’t accidental; DJ Sammy has a degree in music technology and over 20 years of experience in the music industry.  If you can’t handle straight up techno and dance with no singing, download two of his most popular songs: Heaven, and Boys of Summer.  Both can be found on his Heaven album, which is one of the best CDs to listen to as you tone your body.
