Apple recently updated MobileMe, so that the best way for Apple consumers to keep their devices synchronized just got better. The MobileMe update improves upon MobileMe in a number of ways, making it easier than ever before for people to keep all of their devices up to speed with one another. And, with how technology has advanced so that most people have at least two devices where they store information and data electronically, MobileMe is more beneficial than most people even realize. Take the Apple consumer who owns a MacBook Pro, an iPad and an iPhone, for instance. Without MobileMe, this consumer could very well have different information on each of his Apple products, and be unable to access important Contact and Calendar information located on one product’s hard drive from that of another.
With MobileMe, however, a consumer of Apple products has no problem transferring data between devices. In fact, MobileMe transfers important data automatically so that consumers can rest assured that they can access their data from whichever Apple product they happen to have. The following five highlights describe some of what is new with MobileMe, as well as some of the features that have remained with MobileMe from its previous generation that has made MobileMe the most useful product of its kind.
1. MobileMe syncs Mail, Contacts and Calendar on every Apple device. For those who use an Apple computer at home and at work, and who also use an iPhone or an iPad while on the go, there is nothing quite so useful as this feature of MobileMe. Even without docking, MobileMe transfers data between these programs via the Web so that a MobileMe user can be certain that he has access to his information from whichever device he happens to be using.
2. MobileMe makes it simple to share photos. MobileMe users have no problem uploading photographs from an iPad, iPhone or Mac computer, to their MobileMe gallery. Once their photographs are uploaded, MobileMe users can invite their friends and families to browse their albums or upload photographs of their own.
3. MobileMe provides users with access to a virtual hard drive where they can store all of their important files and data. Nothing is more frustrating than completing an important project on one computer and then realizing that it needs to be transferred to another device for completion. With MobileMe’s iDisk, important data can be transferred to an online database, where it can later be picked up by other devices. As such, MobileMe users have no problem accessing their documents from wherever they happen to be.
4. MobileMe provides Me.com. Me.com provides access to MobileMe user’s most important stuff, including Contacts, Calendars, Photos and email from wherever they happen to be. This means that a MobileMe user can check her contacts or calendars from any computer in the world that has access to the Web.
5. iPhone tracking device. MobileMe provides iPhone owners with a one-of-a-kind tracking device in case they happen to lose their iPhone. With GPS technology, MobileMe helps iPhone users track down their iPhone without having to purchase a new one.
