What’s New for the iPhone?

iphoneThe adage stating that the only constant is change has never been truer than in the realm of technology. It seems that not a month goes by without the release of a new innovation. And just as quickly as one innovation comes, it seems to be replaced with a new version that offers even more features. Fortunately, we have gotten to an era where even products that are a few generations old have enough features and capacities to keep most people satisfied, but this does not negate the constant influx of new ideas that become available to consumers nearly each and every day.

Apple is a prime example of how rapidly new technologies become available to consumers. Generation after generation, the iPod, MacBook and iPhone consistently outdo the generation that came before. This does not mean that older generations must be routinely replaced, but only that Apple is hard at work to provide more options for technology enthusiasts. Who would have thought that consumers would have even a fraction of the options that come standard on Apple products these days?

Take the MacBook, for instance. Every new MacBook comes loaded with enough features to keep even the savviest of technology consumers satisfied. Right out of the box, MacBooks have a built in web camera, a brilliant screen display, and a highly intuitive touch pad. First time Mac users are routinely blown away by all that a MacBook Pro has to offer.

And later this month, with the release of the iPad, consumers will once again be blown away. With its sleek and slim design, the iPad is the tablet computer of the future. For years, industry giants in the computer industry have been talking about a tablet computer. And now, Apple is bringing this idea to life at an extremely reasonable price.

The iPhone is yet another of Apple’s products that continues to push innovation forward. Hundreds of thousands of consumers now have instant Web access right in the palm of their hand thanks to the iPhone. The day has arrived when people can carry their computer around right in their pocket. The only question for the iPhone is, what’s next?

Well according to the blog, Patently Apple, there are big things in store for the next version of the iPhone. Speculators have studied some of the recent patents filed by Apple and surmised that a brand new feature may come standard on the iPhones of the next generation. One way of explaining this feature is to say that a mini track pad will be added to the backside of the iPhone, hidden inside the lens of the camera. Consumers will be able to swipe one finger over the camera lens to command the iPhone to browse through Web pages. In addition to browsing through Web pages, finger commands will be used to scan through voice messages and other applications. Based on what Apple has done for the MacBook’s track pad, consumers can count on great things with this up and coming feature.
